Recap dashboards that earn internal buy-in
2024-09-09 · Taeyang Oh
Dashboards balloon when every stakeholder adds a widget. We start with three tiles: throughput story, incident or waste notes, and photo proof of fixture alignment. Everything else fights for appendix space.
Buy-in improves when tiles reference operational decisions: where a cordon moved, why a SKU rotated, how staffing surged. Those are narrative hooks, not vanity charts.
We also separate raw tallies from interpreted summaries. Raw lives in an attachment; the dashboard stays readable on a phone.
If a client wants a fourth tile, we negotiate what drops to footnotes. Clarity is part of respect.
